Be with me, Lord, when I am in trouble.
Have you ever seen the bumper sticker that says, "Don't drive faster than your guardian angel can fly." There's a difference between God protecting us from those things we can't control verses him protecting us from ourselves. Making good decisions and following Christ will generally lead to better health and better prosperity. I'm not saying the "Health and Wealth" message here. I'm just saying that there are common sense reasons to what God teaches us. If we are honest in our dealings and purposeful in our work we will see benefits. If we take care of ourselves our bodies will be healthier. If we stay committed to our family and spouse we will see our home become stable places that our community can depend on. If we keep our minds moral and chaste, our relationships will be stronger. If we love each other as we love our selves, we will treat God as the Samaritan did and all of these things will come to help us in life. Charity begets charity. It's all there in God's word. For those times when bad things do happen, pray for understanding and remember Job.
God Bless, Perry
