Compliments are life giving for those around you. They also give back life to the giver. When I find myself becoming too critical for my own good, I am forced to step back and look for the things that are good. Even in the dimmest of times there is good to be seen somewhere. I think proclaiming God's marvelous deeds is not just praising Him directly but praising the good around me. So when my student is hopelessly out of tune and not really showing the effort to fix it, it's important at that moment to see God working through each person.
"My, how you are helping me learn patience today!" "God bless you!"
