On Earth inheritance is too expensive for all involved. But in the case of God the Father, his inheritance given to us is His very Son. It's an oddity to think about. When my dad died, he left me an inheritance. My brothers and sisters and I together went through things and accepted what there was and took those memories with us to help us in our own futures. It wasn't much but it was what he had.... everything he had. As they say, you can't take it with you. In the case of our Lord, we experience the life and Death of Jesus Christ who is also God the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus died and yet he is our inheritance. We were offered Him when He died. This is the mystery of the trinity. It took the death of God for us to receive our inheritance and it took the Holy Spirit to give us our inheritance which is Christ Himself. It's an odd circumstance but through it we can come to accept who God is and become more at one with Him by accepting this gift. When I inherited things from my dads estate, I learned more about him. Had I refused those items, some aspects of my dads life would have been lost to me and never understood. For this reason we must accept the inheritance that is Jesus. So that we can understand the God who gave his own life for us.
