Feb. 5th Ps. 147, Praise the Lord Who Heals the Broken Hearted

The words of this beautiful psalm speak for themselves.  We've all been through difficult times.  I think the thing that many people don't realize is that when someone goes through a loss of a loved one or a traumatic experience is that the need to be able to talk about it remains for a long time.  While everyone else has moved on with their lives, those who are in pain still have moments of rememberance where they need someone to just be there and listen.  Christ knows our sufferings.  He sees our needs and listens.  Let us be his body on Earth that is there for comfort and healing.  "For this purpose I have come."  Mk 1:29-39, for this purpose, we are here.

Responsorial Psalm Ps 147:1-2, 3-4, 5-6

Praise the Lord, who heals the brokenhearted.

Praise the LORD, for he is good;
sing praise to our God, for he is gracious;
it is fitting to praise him.
The LORD rebuilds Jerusalem;
the dispersed of Israel he gathers.

He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.
He tells the number of the stars;
he calls each by name.

Great is our Lord and mighty in power;
to his wisdom there is no limit.
The LORD sustains the lowly;
the wicked he casts to the ground.
