May 12, 2013, - Seventh Sunday of Easter (or in some parishes - Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord)

Seventh Sunday of Easter - Ps 97:1-2, 6-7, 9

The Lord is king, the most high over all the earth.

The LORD is king; let the earth rejoice;
let the many islands be glad.
Justice and judgment are the foundation of his throne.

The heavens proclaim his justice,
and all peoples see his glory.
All gods are prostrate before him.

You, O LORD, are the Most High over all the earth,
exalted far above all gods.

Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord - Ps 47:2-3, 6-7, 8-9

God mounts his throne to shouts of joy: a blare of trumpets for the Lord.

All you peoples, clap your hands,
shout to God with cries of gladness,
For the LORD, the Most High, the awesome,
is the great king over all the earth.

God mounts his throne amid shouts of joy;
the LORD, amid trumpet blasts.
Sing praise to God, sing praise;
sing praise to our king, sing praise.

For king of all the earth is God;
sing hymns of praise.
God reigns over the nations,
God sits upon his holy throne.
