Why Weekly Psalm is Important

Since this is my first blog I thought I'd state my goals with this site so that hopefully if I continue with it I can refer back to see if I'm on track and have done what I've said I'd do.  I've been writting music for years and have learned how easy it is to start something..........
completing something is a different matter.

My overall goal is to improve worship and liturgy in our churches.  I won't save the world or become a John Micheal Talbot so I won't try.  Instead, I'll just write my songs and post them here.  If you want a recording...  I hope to have a sight set up for those as well some day.

My goals for this blog will be as follows.
1.  To write psalms for each week that are singable, catchy, and convey the meaning/feeling intended.
2.  To give some insite into church music ministry that can help budding music ministers and give them confidence to keep up the good work.
3.  To Encourage worship
4.  To create example recordings for the psalms to be sent via email each week so subscribers can more easily understand the music.

Keeping this blog up may have it's challenges because I have a relatively young family and a lot happens to sidetrack me so another goal or at least rule I need to follow is to "KEEP IT SIMPLE".

There won't be a lot of multiple parts to these songs.  Those are for you to create.  I like people being creative with my music.  If you come up with a great harmony or descant feel free to sing it.  The music I post will be protected by copyright but don't worry about using anything I post here at church.  If you ever want to record something and charge for it, let me know and we can work out the details privately.

God bless your music ministry and God bless this blog and the music presented.
